Recent Satellite Launches

Launched 21 December 2007 at 4:42 p.m. EST, the Horizons 2 satellite is owned by a joint venture between Intelsat and JSAT International and was built by Orbital Sciences Corp. The satellite will operate from 74°W and will carry a payload of 20 Ku-band transponders.

Launched 5 October 2007, at 18:02 EDT aboard Arianespace's Ariane 5 rocket. Intelsat 11 will be deployed to the 317°E orbital role.

The satellite comprises of 25 C- and 18 Ku-band transponder units offering a robust footprint for broadcasting content and data in the Americas while providing coverage for Europe.

Launched 4 May 2007, at 18:29 ET aboard Arianespace's Ariane 5 ECA rocket. The spacecraft will initially serve customers at 74°W starting 3Q 2007 and will be redeployed to its final orbital location at 91°W in 4Q 2007.

The satellite features 24 C- and 24 Ku-band transponders providing premium landmass coverage over the Continental United States, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Caribbean and Mexico.
